The FAQ

Questions from the stands

The ones that come up the most — about the collector, the cards, and why any of this exists at all.

A football fan drawn to the romantic side of the game — the eras, the stories, the shirts. Collecting cards became a way to hold onto that feeling, and this site is where the joy gets shared. It starts here, and we will see where it goes.

Some of them are, and the collection notes will be updated as that changes. An offers feature is planned for the future — until then, nothing here is a listing, just a story being told.

Passion speaks for itself — it is not something that can really be explained. But choosing to support one club is also a commitment. One life, one team; everything else in the collection flows outward from that.

It fulfils the need to share, but it is far from showing off. The point is to attract people who love the same things, rather than letting these cards sit in a hidden corner. No one can collect everything — the world of cards is bigger than any wallet — so this collection is a balance between passion and what is affordable. In a way, it is the opposite of showing off: it is about limits.

A "slab" is what collectors call a graded card sealed in its protective case, and a starting XI is the eleven names on the team sheet. Put together: a collection curated the way a manager picks a squad — every card has to earn its place in the lineup.

The player comes first, the story second, the card itself third. A card earns its slot when it captures a moment that matters — a debut, a treble, a torch being passed — not simply because it is expensive or rare. That is also why the collection is arranged as squads and eras instead of a price list.

Slowly and deliberately. New cards arrive when the right one appears at the right time, pitches get reshuffled as squads evolve, and the Press Box gains new stories along the way. Checking back is encouraged — the team sheet is never final.
